Kung Fu is the name of a franchise of various action-adventure martial arts television series and movies.
The first series began in 1972, starring David Carradine as Kwai Chang Caine. Following this series was another, Kung Fu: The Legend Continues, as well as a film and a separate television pilot.
The newest iteration of Kung Fu is a television series reboot starring Olivia Liang as Nicky Shen, a young Chinese-American woman who drops out of college to go on a life-changing journey to an isolated monastery in China.
When she returns, she uses her martial arts skills and Shaolin values to protect her hometown and bring criminals to justice... all while searching for the assassin who killed her Shaolin mentor and is now targeting her.
The new Kung Fu series premiered on The CW on Wednesday April 7, 2021.
